A wearer of many creative hats, I’m a versatile professional with a passion for illustration, typography, and design.

ILLUSTRATION

My journey into illustration began while working full-time as a Proofreader & Typesetter for a major Canadian book publisher, but I’ve been happily drawing and creating stories since I could first hold a pencil.

I specialize in designs that evoke warmth, coziness, and a sense of childlike wonder. While my illustrations are primarily digital, I love incorporating textures inspired by traditional media—inky brushstrokes, rough-cut paper, and colour washes—giving my work a playful, tactile feel reminiscent of gouache and pastels.

My artwork is most often inspired by a love of stories and nature—especially florals, animals, insects, and the night sky. Being a former English major, I am also a massive nerd for mythology, folklore, and dark fairy tales, often lending my art a moody yet comforting feel. Though I gravitate toward these themes in my personal work, I’m very adaptable and enjoy creating designs for a wide variety of subjects.

When I’m not drawing, I can be found stargazing, wandering forests on a hike, and gathering inspiration at local antique stores—or snuggling under a blanket with a good fantasy book and a steaming cup of tea.

TYPESETTING & DESIGN

Over the past nine years, I’ve been a full-time professional in the Canadian publishing industry, specializing in book layout and typography as an in-house Typesetter. Having worked on everything from illustrated fiction to detailed nonfiction, I am able to deliver beautiful, polished layouts under tight deadlines.

I also love working on commercial design projects—from wedding stationery to logos, and full-colour magazine spreads to catalogue layouts. With a background in professional proofreading, I bring a meticulous eye to each design, ensuring every detail is polished and communicating clearly.
